Keep Portland weird! It certainly is a quirky city. We enjoyed our time in Portland and would definitely return for a longer trip in the future.

Outdoor Rating: 4/5
Portland has a lot of greenery around and hikes for the avid hiker. Even in the city there is a lot of greenery that can be found. While it is outdoorsy, it does have more of a city vibe to it. Even so there are lots of hikes, places to bike, and more just outside the city. Make sure to visit Multnomah Falls which is about a 30-40min drive outside the city. It's the most visited natural attraction in the pacific north west. It's an easy hike to the top and has great views!

Uniqueness: 5/5
I'm not sure if you will find a city as unique as Portland. They like to "Keep Portland Weird" after all. From groups of food trucks, hipster coffee places, and much more, you won't find any other city as quirky as Portland. Fun fact: Portland's nick name is the rose city due to its perfect climate for growing roses year round. Check out the International Rose Test Garden while you're there to see all the different species of Roses from around the world!

City Safeness/ Upkeep: 2/5
If there's one thing Portland is known for in the news it is its growing homeless population. That is very evident when visiting the city. While during the day it isn't much of a bother, once nightfall hits it can be quite worrisome. We did see drug paraphernalia scattered on the street when walking which is a turn off.
Food: 3/5
Wine: 4/5
Portland is a very foodie city with many different options around town. We recommend you visit Hubert's Café which is Portland's oldest restaurant. Their specialty is the turkey dinner which is great! You also have to try the Spanish coffee which is made table side and they put on quite the show. One also can't forget to visit the famous Voodoo Donuts as well when in Portland. It was overhyped in our opinion but unique.
When it comes to wine, the Willamette Valley does Pinot Noir right! We joined Amaterra Winery when we visited and get their wine shipped out to CA 4 times a year. The Pinot Noirs from their region are better than their French counterparts in our opinion.

Overall Rating: 3/5
Final Verdict:
We really enjoyed our time in Portland. It's a fun city and there is a lot to explore when it comes to food and wine, and the great outdoors. What holds it back is safeness of the city and the growing homeless and drug problem. While it didn't affect our trip, we felt we had to be on edge during the night due to the air of city at night. We would still want to visit again as there was much to explore and don't think that it should hold anyone back from visiting.
