Tucson, Arizona, United States

Updated: May 30, 2023

Tucson is a very much a college town with the University of Arizona as the happening place in town. It has very good Southwestern style food and nice golf courses to keep you busy. Maybe not in the dead of summer though.

The Golf scene in Tucson is pretty good. It's not Scottsdale, but it has some great courses. We played at Starr Pass Country Club and it was a great course. It was very well taken care of and the staff was super friendly. They have 3 9-hole courses where 2 of them make up the championship course. We played all 3 and loved them all!

The oldest family run Mexican restaurant is in Tucson. It's called El Charro Café. They are the inventors of the chimichanga and it is the best one you will ever have. That is why it is always packed. We skipped eating at the country club the first night just to eat there. Make sure you don't mind waiting. They have their bar open while you wait. We recommend you try the jalapeño margarita.

One of the other things we did in Tucson was check out the Pima Air and Space museum. This houses hundreds if not thousands of planes from military to commercial airlines. They have many different hangars filled with planes and they have the larger planes outside on the grounds. Standing under a 747 is an amazing experience.

Overall, Tucson is a fun place to catch a football or basketball game at the University of Arizona, golf, and even get some great food around town.
